Rodd Hotels & Resorts Statement on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Update: March 30, 2020

Although there are still many unknowns facing us due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we know many of you are hopeful that things will return to normal, sooner rather than later and we are too. We know all too well that these coming months are normally filled with weekend travel for sports and business travel, as well as planning your upcoming summer holidays. While most sport seasons have ended earlier than anticipated and business travel has been put on hold – we want you to remain hopeful in planning your upcoming summer holidays. To make things easier we have updated our cancellation policy to be more flexible, for example we have removed pre-paid, non-refundable stipulations. We are currently accepting reservations for May onwards, made through our website or through our call centre (1.800.565.7633). We realize these are unprecedented times and we will be waiting to welcome you when this all passes.

I wanted to reach out to let you know what we are doing here at Rodd Hotels & Resorts during the uncertain time we are currently facing due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We are closely monitoring the CDC and WHO statements and following guidelines from these agencies and our local health departments.

The wellbeing of you, our guest, is of paramount importance. We are committed to offering you flexible booking options. Given the particular circumstances we are adjusting our booking policies to give you peace of mind:

Individual bookings: All reservations – even those described as “non-cancellable” (ex: advanced purchase) – that are scheduled for arrival before April 30, 2020, can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival.

Guests who booked via online travel agents or other third party travel professionals are advised to contact their booking provider for information on their policies.

If you need to adjust reservations made directly through roddvacations.com or our call center, please reach out to us at 1.800.565.7633 to do so.

We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking steps to ensure the safety of you, our guest, and our employees. On a daily basis, our hotels are working to ensure that they meet the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning.

Here are some highlights:

Guest Rooms: Hotels use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items.

Public Spaces: Hotels have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on the counter at the front desk, elevators (and elevator buttons), door handles, public bathrooms and even room keys.

Back of House: In the spaces where associates work “behind the scenes,” hotels are increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like employee entrances, laundry rooms and staff offices.

It is during times like these that we truly appreciate your dedication to our family of hotels and entrusting us to keep you safe while you’re traveling. Whether you are traveling now or in the future, our team members are ready to welcome you with the true Maritime hospitality that you’ve come to expect.
