As we all know, these last two months have shown us that things can change quickly. We have a new appreciation for the everyday lives we used to lead, the morning stop on the way to work for coffee and things as simple as a hug.
While many of us are working and learning from the safety of our own homes, many do not have the ability to do the same. We are now all familiar with the term “essential worker”, and we want to say thanks. For the workers who are keeping our communities safe, healthy and fed. For the workers who are stressed, tired and missing their families. We want to say thanks.
Starting on May 4th, we’re giving away 35 one-night stays to essential workers across the Maritimes. We want to give them the gift of relaxation once this is all over.
Contest runs from Friday, May 1st until Friday, May 15th. After the 15th, 35 winners will be chosen and contacted by e-mail or phone.
Thank you all for nominating an essential worker in your life. We are happy to announce that we had 825 nominations for essential workers that you thought deserved a little rest and relaxation.
We randomly picked our winners and out of our 35 winners we had:
Nurse (7), hospital worker (5), grocery store worker (2), mechanic (3), fast food worker, correctional officer, resident care worker (2), employed by Walmart (2), Service Canada worker, paramedic (3), volunteer firefighter, police officer, personal support worker, Canada Post worker, seafood processing plant worker, essential worker who is immune compromised, single mom working full time & executive director of an area SPCA
We will be touching base the week of May 18th to let those that won know they were nominated, chosen as a winner and to ensure that they receive their prize.
