Company History

Rodd Hotels & Resorts was founded by two newlyweds, Wally & Sally Rodd in 1935.

Rodd Hotels & Resorts Management Team

Up until 1992, Rodd Hotels & Resorts had been operated under the sole direction of its President & CEO, David Rodd. With the growth of the organization came the need to develop a highly skilled head office. David realized in the early 1990’s that the company could no longer be a “one man show” and now consists of Mark Rodd, President & CEO, along with a head office management team consisting of a regional and national sales force, marketing team, human resource management, quality assurance and accounting. The team is dedicated to setting and maintaining standards of excellence and is a cornerstone to the sound operational management of its assets.

Sales & Marketing

Rodd Hotels & Resorts pride itself in its expertise and focus on increasing hotel revenue. Comprehensive marketing plans work in concert with target sales programs. Our sales team is made up of six regional and national sales managers – each working on his/her targeted clients and/or territory. The Corporate sales team is specialized in meetings and convention business, motorcoach, FIT, vacation packages and leisure travel.

The marketing team work closely with each property to develop a unique selling approach while increasing revenues through a solid network of media relation, marketing, advertising promotions, database management, and e-marketing.

Food and Beverage

Rodd Hotels & Resorts manage a variety of food and beverage outlets. From golf clubhouses to fine dining to intimate lounges, our experience provides broad expertise in the areas of restaurant and lounge concepts, food presentation and cost control to improve profitability. Along with F&B management services, Rodd Hotels & Resorts offer comprehensive procurement services in partnership with the Avendra group. This will provide your operation with sophisticated supply chain management and significant cost savings.

Hotel Construction and Renovations

Rodd Hotels & Resorts have experience and expertise in both taking a hotel from concept to opening, as well as, restoration and renovation services to meet local demands. We are prepared to work with your team to provide everything from market research and project financing to overseeing the construction or renovation project.

Legal and Financial

Centralized accounting and financial planning are crucial to any properties success. The Rodd Hotels & Resorts team range from the full service of two Chartered Professional Accountants to a well-educated and committed support staff. We maintain the necessary relationships to facilitate daily operations, property sales, financing for renovations, expansions and new property acquisition.

Rodd Hotels & Resorts have a close relationship with a full legal department to protect owners’ investments from hotel operation liabilities. These may include guest safety, financial concerns, franchise relations and other matters that may jeopardize a property’s successful operations.

Human Resource Development

The centralized Human Resource department of Rodd Hotels & Resorts provides all aspects in the hiring and training of staff. Our training ensures high levels of productivity in all facets of hotel operations. Our company develops comprehensive employee manuals. Employees are required to participate in training whether it is individualized or departmental offered on a regular basis or as required.
